On May 14, 2016, CWEG Chairman Hou
Feng met with renowned German environmental expert Max
Dohmann,
who is the winner of the First Class of the Order of Merit of the Federal
Republic of Germany, environmental
adviser to the former Chancellor of Germany, and the professor
at RWTH Aachen University, in Chengdu. Chen Yong, Secretary at the College of
Architecture and Environment of Sichuan University, also attended the meeting. The
three sides had in-depth discussions on the current situation and future development
of water environment management in China, as well as the potential and prospect
of the Sino-German partnership on environmental protection, etc. Professor Max
Dohmann was briefed on CWEG’s advantages, demonstration projects and vision
for internationalization, and admired CWEG for its contribution to China’s environmental protection industry, indicating that there
will be much room for the three sides’ collaboration in engineering,
technical and academic fields, etc. He also expressed his hope to establish a long-term
cooperative mechanism with CWEG to further promote the Sino-German environmental
partnership. The three sides had agreed to give full play to their respective strengths
to actively explore and facilitate Sino-German cooperation in R&D and
industrialization of environmental protection technologies and model innovation.
