Zheng Zhajie, Deputy Secretary of the CPC Zhejiang Provincial Committee and Secretary of the CPC Ningbo Municipal Committee, Wang Huisheng, Chairman of SDIC, and Hou Feng, Chairman of CWEG witnessed the signing ceremony and attended the subsequent meeting.
As per the agreement, the parties will, upholding the principle of “equality and mutual benefit, complementarity of strength, long-term cooperation and common development”, leverage the strengths of the government and market to jointly create the “Ningbo Mode” for water environment management. SDIC and CWEG will give full play to their advantages in brand, capital, technology, talent and operation to provide integrated water services across the whole industrial chain and life cycle for Ningbo. The near-term focus is to set up a joint venture to push forward related work in wastewater treatment and sludge resource utilization, river watershed environment improvement, ecological restoration, and construction of smart water infrastructure, thus boosting the green development and ecological civilization construction of Ningbo.
Zheng Zhajie extended a warm welcome to the delegation led by Wang Huisheng who revisited Ningbo for seeking strategic cooperation, and said that Ningbo had made greater progress last year in aspects such as industrial development, science and technology innovation, urban construction, opening up, and environmental management, and the strategic cooperation between Ningbo and SDIC went very smoothly. “I hope that each and every water environment management project can be implemented and marketized at a low cost to help restore the urban and rural river ecosystems of Ningbo as soon as possible,” Zheng added. She also expressed her hope to further promote collaboration between Ningbo and SDIC in the fields of e.g. automobile manufacturing, artificial intelligence and information software, in a bid to push forward Ningbo's “246” industrial cluster construction development planning and achieve mutual benefit and win-win outcomes at a higher level.
As Ningbo sees a good momentum of development, enjoys an excellent environment and broad prospects, SDIC will continue to choose Ningbo as a key city for investment and cooperation, and implement a number of high-quality projects focused on industry segments, key technologies, ecological protection, urban and rural construction to make more contributions to the high-quality development of Ningbo, Wang Huisheng said.
According to Hou Feng, as a professional platform for water environment management under SDIC, CWEG will continue to take on the mission of “building a world-leading water environment management brand of China” and leverage its advantages to help improve the ecological environment and sustainable development of Ningbo.
